Mobile Phone Seatbelt Cameras
Australian Capital Territory/Canberra

Update:
The mobile phone camera trailers from November 3, 2025 they'll also capture seatbelt infringements. If detected infringing, vehicles will also be checked for registration and insurance. There is ambiguity whether or not the mobile phone camera seatbelt trailers currently detect speeding in the ACT. I suspect they don't but best to assume the camera trailers can also detect speeding.

PLEASE HELP
Please use the Speed & Camera Alerts feature to report cameras.

The Mobile Phone Seatbelt Camera map for the ACT shows confirmed and suspected mobile phone seatbelt camera locations around the ACT and some nearby areas of NSW. Suspected camera locations match the behaviour of mobile phone seatbelt cameras but have not been verified by a photo, video, secondary source, or confirmed by the general public. Camera markers show the location of the mobile phone seatbelt cameras.

Notes

Canberra

The first three mobile phone detection camera trailers rolled out in 2023. Motorists didn't receive fines until October 2023. There are two fixed units installed on Hindmarsh Drive and Gungahlin Drive.

Based today's suspected locations (18/11/2025), it does appear there may now be six trailer based mobile phone seatbelt detection cameras. I've not yet seen confirmation of this in the press.

From the 3rd of November 2025 the mobile phone detection cameras could also detect non or incorrect wearing of seatbelts.
