Distance to camera

Based on images for the M5 mobile phone seatbelt camera, it is estimated the distance from the camera to the vehicle is around 20m. For a portable mobile phone seatbelt camera on a trailer the distance is estimated to be around 10 metres.

Recently it was decided to also add speed camera trailers to the map as Queensland uses trailers for both mobile phone seatbelt cameras and speed camera. Whilst it can generally be determined if a trailer is at a location, without further confirmation, it is not possible to determine if the trailer is a mobile phone seatbelt camera trailer or a speed camera trailer.

Mobile Phone Seatbelt detection camera trailers and speed camera trailer locations shown on the map have been verified. If a trailer is stated by a user as being at a location but the type of camera is not specified or clear, the trailer is shown as unknown. If a trailer is suspected to be at a location based on user reports over a number of days, the trailer will be shown as suspected. If you've spotted a mobile phone seatbelt detection camera trailer or a speed camera trailer and have a photo, video or fine, you're welcome to send an email to the following email address with details. For a video please only send a link. You can upload and share a private video on YouTube. Once the information has been recorded all emails will be deleted. No individual's information will be kept. All submissions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
